Children

Providence Presbyterian Children’s Ministry exists: to support parents as they raise their children in the Faith, and to provide children with a joyful and meaningful learning and worshiping environment every Sunday. Our goal in all of this is simple: To know Jesus and grow as followers of him.

Our education and worship for children always begins with stories from Scripture, and finishes with finding ways to encourage children to know, love, and share those stories.

As a church family, we equip parents to be the primary teachers and nurturers of their child’s faith.  And we also believe we can support your work, by offering education and worship every Sunday, that make for a fun, enriching time together.

Each child is a beloved child of God uniquely created by God for a specific purpose.  Our joy is to help you build on the gifts God has given your child, and to help her or him to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.

Sunday Morning: Children join their parents at the beginning of worship. Then they are dismissed immediately after “A Time for Children” from the Traditional service to Sunday School or Godly Play; from the Contemporary service for Godly Play. On First Sundays children will stay with their families for worship.

    • Sunday School – Four year olds – sixth grade, during the Traditional worship service, held at 10:00 am.
    • Godly Play – Three year olds (potty trained!) – third grade, during both worship services.
    • NurseriesInfant and toddler through three years old.
    • Summer Sundays – For a few weeks in the summer, children pre-school through 3rd grade  will be invited to Godly Play after A Time for Children at both services; children in upper elementary grades will be exploring Bible stories with exciting animated videos, games and puzzles.
