Originally from Olathe, Kansas, military life brought Jane and her husband, Gene, to Fairfax where Jane has been the organist and pianist since 1999 for Providence Presbyterian. She is also the principal accompanist and vocal coach for the University Chorale (100+ voices) of George Mason University, and accompanist for four of the youth choirs under the auspices of the Fairfax Choral Society. Jane is frequently asked to accompany around the state of Virginia at local, district and state level choral festivals. Jane earned a BM in Piano Performance at Emporia State University, Emporia, KS and an MM in Piano Performance at Sam Houston University in Huntsville, TX. She studies organ with Dr. Theodore Guerrant and William Neil.
Jane is married to Gene Kaye, a bass in the Sanctuary Choir as well as the director of the Providence Singers. They have two children: Barbara and Paul. Barbara is married and recently moved to Washington State where she is stationed at Ft. Lewis. Paul is a student at the University of Kansas.
Besides music, Jane’s other interests include the Music & Arts Committee of Providence Presbyterian, gardening, her menagerie (Cassie, the Horse; two cats, and two turtles), Civil War history, knitting, crocheting, collecting pigs and antique thermometers, and reading.
