Mission Trips

At Providence Presbyterian Church, we believe God calls all of us to serve one another, and there is no age limit for serving God’s world. Mission projects provide an opportunity for students to see the world through someone else’s eyes and to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world.  We do short local mission projects as well as week-long mission trips. These experiences have the potential to be life-changing and all youth are encouraged to participate as often as they can.

We’ve designed our Three Days of Mission program each August specifically to give Junior High students a sampling of different ways they can serve the community in hopes that they will find something they love and feel empowered to make a difference. We have fun performing service with local organizations that minister to the needy in our community and we gain a deeper understanding about who our neighbors are and how we can help them.

Over the years, the high school youth have gone on annual spring break mission trips to places such as Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, West Virginia and Juarez, Mexico, taking on projects such as rehabilitating homes, ministering to children, and partnering with local non-profits groups to impact communities.

Upcoming mission events for 2017 include a Sr High Mission Retreat in February, Jr High Mission Projects during Spring Break, an Intergenerational Mission Trip to Webster Springs, WV in June, and Jr High 3 Days of Mission in August.  See the Youth News and Events page for information on these and other upcoming mission activities.
