Children's Ministry
Providence Welcomes new Interim Director of Children's Ministries
Members and Friends of Providence,
On behalf of the Personnel Committee of Providence Presbyterian Church, I want to share some exciting news: Leigh Burke is our new Interim Director of Children's Ministries! She is taking over the position that Holly Marcario has held for the past three years.
As we say "Welcome!" to Leigh, it is with great sadness that we begin saying good-bye to Holly. When I arrived at Providence two years ago as your new senior pastor, I was delighted to meet and get to know Holly. She brought to Children's Ministries a love for children, her excellent organizational skills, and a passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I personally want to thank Holly on behalf of the session and congregation for her excellent work and the high quality of her job performance. While I knew the day would come when Holly would leave us as Interim Coordinator of Children's Ministries and pursue other goals in her life, it is never easy to say good-bye. And, I know that she will miss working with the parents and the youth of this congregation.
Thank you, Holly!
Holly will be with us this Sunday morning at our Rally Day celebration in Mission Hall. Please look for her at the Children's Ministries table along with Leigh Burke, and express your thanks to Holly for the great work that she is done. Take time to welcome Leigh as well.
Holly and Leigh will work side-by-side for the next several days as Leigh becomes more acquainted with the programs and responsibilities of the Children's Ministry position. Holly and Leigh will work together this Sunday, September 11th and next Sunday, September 18th as this transition takes place.
If you desire to send cards of thanks and appreciation for Holly's ministry with us, please send them to Providence addressed to her. Or, if you prefer, you may send her an e-mail expressing your good wishes for her.
And now, we welcome Leigh Burke as Interim Director of Children's Ministries, while the Personnel Committee begins the search process to fill this position permanently.
Many members of Providence know Leigh and her family very well. Leigh is an elder and a long-time active member of the church. She has worked very closely with the children's ministry and youth ministry programs in the past. In the near future, we will send out a more detailed introduction of Leigh for those who do not know her.
In the meantime, we look forward to another exciting, enriching program year at Providence.
Faithfully,
The Rev. Dr. Michael P. Burns
Senior Pastor
