Sunday Service Schedules
Dear Member of Providence Presbyterian Church:
I write on behalf of the Session to advise of you an important issue to be considered by the Session at its next meeting on June 9th.
Last summer the Session voted to offer three Sunday services from September 2008 to June 2009: two traditional at 8:45 and 11:15 am and one contemporary at 11:15 am. At the end of this period, the Session planned to review attendance for the year across all three services and evaluate the impact on the staff and volunteers. The initial period to determine the appropriate number of Sunday morning services that Providence should support is drawing to a close. The staff and committees would prefer that a decision be made in June to allow time to develop plans for the fall services that will begin next September.
The Session began its review process at its May 12 meeting with an initial discussion of a report and recommendation from the Worship and Spiritual Formation (WSF) Committee. At that time, the Session determined that congregational feedback would be helpful prior to making any decision to change or sustain the number of Sunday services that will begin next September.
Relevant information:
Other information will be shared with the Congregation as it becomes available. Elders and members of the WSF Committee also will be available to receive your comments following services on Sunday June 7th.
Thank you.
