Interim Pastor Announcement

I write to bring you up to date on the search for an Interim Pastor.
It is with regret that I inform you that Dr. Roger Rice notified us last evening that he has declined our offer to be our interim pastor. He instead has accepted a call to be the permanent pastor for a church in Towson, Maryland. He was very sorry he had to back out of his verbal commitment to us, and struggled with this decision.
While this is disappointing news, please remember that God is in this process and will guide us to the person that needs to be serving at Providence. The Interim Search Committee will be meeting on Thursday and will continue to serve faithfully.
In the meantime please be assured that the Session is making sure that we will have adequate Pastoral coverage during Mary's maternity leave to support Lisa, and Joe Moss will continue to serve as the acting head of staff.
Please continue to be in prayer for the Interim Search Committee and our Church.
